IMKO Workforce Solutions is seeking a 2nd Shift Supervisor for a manufacturing company in Madison, South Dakota. 
As the Shift Supervisor you would supervise and coordinate overall daily production for the shift. You would utilize all resources available to help your assigned employees to meet the company’s expectations. The duties of the position would include: 
  • Instill good safety and housekeeping habits in your employees.
  • Regularly inspect the areas in your responsibility for safety hazards, take immediate action in the event of safety hazard or notify appropriate department.
  • Ensure that the necessary paperwork according to the safety and health procedures and policies for your employees is completed
  • Develop your leadership, training and problem-solving skills.
  • Supervise and oversee the completion of job duties for the Operators and Production Technicians, including the proper set up, operation, and tear down of the workstation and machines.
  • Develop the Production Technicians skills. 
  • Apply 5S principles within the shift.
  • Understand the responsibilities of employees in your work area.
  • Maintain good employee morale and teamwork.
  • Assists in meeting the daily molding schedule.
  • Completes or assigns necessary paperwork regarding internal corrective actions.
  • Evaluates and reviews production reports and makes recommendations for improvements.
  • Assists the Quality Department in setting the standards to ensure quality parts.
  • Work closely with Customer Service in the scheduling of parts.
  • Develop and assign daily priority list for appropriate personnel.
  • Work with the Product Development in the scheduling of upcoming sample parts.
  • Work with the Toolroom to identify mold issues to improve part quality.
  • Follows company policies and procedures.
  • Inspects samples of molded and assembled products periodically, according to inspection procedures to ensure conformance to written standards and specifications.   Identifies and isolates non-conforming products.
  • Assist with interviewing, hiring, scheduling, and addressing employee opportunities.
                                      Requirements:
  • Associate degree (A. A.) or equivalent from 2-year college or 1 -2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.                         
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.                                 
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.                     
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the position including standing, sitting, kneeling, crawling, have good dexterity, lift up to 50# frequently and 100# occasionally, and meet all vision, hearing, and smelling requirements of the job.
  • Ability to proficiently use computers and Microsoft Office
  •  Must have a valid and clean Driver’s License
