Job Description

IMKO Pro is recruiting a Senior Buyer to join a local Yankton, SD company. Senior Buyer will manage the replenishment process for production related materials, & cultivating new & existing supply base relationships.
Responsibilities:
  • Supplier management & development, including monitoring & distribution of monthly supplier performance 
  • Identify & recommend suppliers based on customer & research capabilities & certifications to ensure they comply with customer requirements/specifications
  • Research, analyze, & forecast the business' current & future buying trends
  • Ensure non-disclosures, surveys, & other certifications are requested & maintained for suppliers
  • Review planned materials reports & create purchase orders based on demands
  • Monitor & review open purchase orders & communicate open order reports weekly
  • Correspond with suppliers on delays or changes impacting order status
  • Review specifications to ensure the most current revision is utilized for compliance with purchased material
  • Update part master with pricing, lead time, & specification changes
  • Review & enter quote information and ensure customer specifications & requirements compliance
  • Generate RFQs to supplier base for new & existing products/services
  • Negotiate with new & existing supply base for best pricing, price break options, & lead time
  • Oversee supplier non-conformances, disposition of material, and root cause/corrective action
  • Oversee projects & cross-functional team improvements to processes & procedures
  • Act on behalf of Purchasing Manager in times of absence or as authorized
  • Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business management or 4+ years experience in a buyer role is preferred
  • Must possess basic computer skills including Microsoft Office programs
  • Excellent written & verbal communication skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Ability to manage multiple software/ERP systems
  • Ability to understand blueprints and interpret specifications
  • Ability to work with little to no supervision, & the ability teach & train others
  • Previous MRP/ERP experience is required
