Maintenance Technician

Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of complex systems, including electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and control systems. The role involves ensuring the optimal functioning of three-phase electrical systems, AC and DC systems, control circuitry, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs), and more. This position requires a strong technical background and a proactive approach to maintaining equipment and systems.Key Responsibilities:
  • Electrical Systems: Troubleshoot and repair three-phase electrical systems, AC and DC circuits, control circuitry, and associated components.
  • Control Systems: Diagnose and repair issues related to control systems, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs).
  • Mechanical Systems: Address mechanical issues by inspecting, troubleshooting, and repairing machinery and equipment.
  • Hydraulic Systems: Perform maintenance and repairs on hydraulic systems, including pumps, valves, and actuators.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on equipment and systems to minimize downtime and extend equipment life.
  • Troubleshooting: Quickly diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions and system failures, minimizing impact on operations.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols and regulations when working with electrical and mechanical systems, ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
  • Collaboration: Work with other departments to schedule repairs and minimize operational disruptions. Provide guidance and training to junior technicians as needed.
  • Inventory Management: Ensure that the necessary tools, parts, and supplies are available and properly stored.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or vocational training in maintenance, electrical, or a related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician, with specific expertise in three-phase electrical systems, AC and DC circuits, control circuitry, VFDs, and PLCs.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, with experience in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and mechanical drawings.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Physical ability to perform tasks that may require climbing, lifting, or working in confined spaces.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Certification in electrical systems, VFDs, or PLCs is a plus.
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) is preferred.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and on-call shifts.
Work Environment:
  • This position may require working in various industrial environments, with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
