Director of Production-Columbia, MO
Construction company in Columbia, MO is seeking a Director of Production.
$90,000-$100,000 per year depending on experience

In this role you will manage a team of employees and sub-contractors managing and performing exterior remodeling work within Central Missouri.  The role requires extensive installation knowledge of all exterior products and their installation requirements, including roofing, siding, gutters, windows, and decks.  In this role you must be proficient in planning out workload, setting and managing installation schedules for 8 to 12 crews, and ensure your team has clear direction and support to properly communicate with customers and sub-contractors.  This role is a key part of the management team and will be relied on heavily to provide reporting and job status as well as communicate with other departments on job progress.  

 

Responsibilities:

The following represents the primary roles and responsibilities that this position shall oversee and manage.  Some roles may be performed directly by this role, while others will be done by members of the production team overseen by this position.

  1. In partnership with the management team, set annual goals for the Production Department regarding volume, service expectations, and overall performance of the department.

  2. Manage, mentor, coach, and train team members in various roles to ensure the appropriate level of knowledge in the process and understanding of performance standards.

  3. Review and monitor the work of sub-contractors to ensure it conforms to company standards; address deficiencies and ensure they are corrected.

  4. Conduct weekly scheduling meetings for projects and create work orders for materials and subcontractors.

  5. Ensure customers are receiving timely and accurate communications regarding their projects.

  6. Oversee all aspects of installation and project management, ensuring standards are met.

  7. Address any installation issues and find solutions.

  8. Work closely with suppliers on material availability and delivery that may affect scheduling.

  9. Monitor the profitability of jobs being produced and provide feedback to management and other departments to ensure proper estimating and production processes are being followed.

  10. Approve subcontractor invoicing and address pricing inaccuracy or work performance issues.

  11. Oversee management of small amounts of inventory.

  12. Monitor condition of vehicles and trailers to ensure proper maintenance is being scheduled.

  13. Provide reporting to the management team and production department on key performance measures.

  14. Provide overall leadership and direction for the team in all aspects.

 

Requirements:

  1. Extensive knowledge of all exterior products and their installation.

  2. Proven leadership and management experience in construction.

  3. Proficient with computers including email and Excel.

  4. Experienced at scheduling and managing many projects at once.

  5. Great communication and problem-solving skills.

  6.  Valid driver's license
