Job Summary:As a Diesel Mechanic, you will play a crucial role in maintaining and repairing our fleet of commercial trucks and vehicles. Leveraging your technical expertise, you will diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, perform scheduled maintenance, and ensure the safe and reliable operation of our equipment.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair diesel engine systems, including fuel, electrical, and emissions components- Perform preventative maintenance on commercial vehicles, such as oil changes, brake inspections, and component replacements- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical problems- Maintain detailed records of all repair and maintenance activities- Adhere to all safety protocols and ensure a clean, organized work environment
Qualifications:- 2+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic or in a similar heavy-duty vehicle repair role- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, hydraulics, and electrical components- Proficiency in using diagnostic equipment and interpreting technical manuals- Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) and relevant trade certifications (e.g., ASE, HVAC)- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Working Conditions:This position is based in a garage or workshop setting and may require occasional outdoor work. The role involves standing, lifting, and operating heavy machinery, so a good level of physical fitness is required.
Compensation and Benefits:This is a temporary Diesel Mechanic position with a pay rate of $25 - $30 per hour. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement contributions, and paid time off.
