Department Store in Shipshewana Indiana is seeking a Department Manager for clothing merchandise. *Must have plan-o-gram and merchandising experience (minimum 2 years)*Seeking candidates with a strong work history and good longevity with previous employers.

Job Summary:  Department Manager is responsible for maintaining Guest service as per Company standard, generating sales, housekeeping, merchandising, signage, pricing, and loss prevention in adherence to all Company Policies/Standards.  Coordinates activities and development of Service Associates through scheduling tasks and managing opportunities for growth and development.
Preference given to those with experience in retail apparel, retail shoes, or retail fabrics
Job Qualifications:  Job knowledge from previous retail or customer service experience adequate to manage all aspects of the Department to Company established standards.  Ability to read and interpret documents such as department manual; ability to speak effectively with Guests.  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions, both oral and written.   Proven leadership experience.   Ability to develop and motivate Service Associates. Education/Training/Experience:  Must have a High School Diploma or G.E.D., Associates degree (AS) preferred.   Computer literate and knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel; experience talking with Guests; experience in developing and motivating Service Associates desired.
Essential Physical Requirements:
  1. This position may require lifting (up to 50 lbs.); bending, climbing, driving equipment).
  2. Ability to process information and merchandise through computer system and POS register system.
  3. Ability to communicate with Associates and Guests.
  4. Ability to read, count and write to accurately complete all documentation.
  5. Ability to freely access all areas of the store including selling floor, stock area, and register area.
  6. Ability to work varied hours/days to oversee store operations.
